Have you ever wondered, should I count calories for weight loss?
While calorie counting is helpful, especially for weight loss after 40, tracking calories to lose weight doesn’t always mean restricting yourself to a very low calorie diet.
Sometimes counting calories for weight loss means eating more in order to help speed up your metabolism. In fact, in many previous Keto Challenges, I found plenty of women who had to eat more food to lose weight.
Learning how to count calories properly is important so you understand your perfect calorie deficit for weight loss.
One of my favorite fat loss tips is tracking macros for weight loss to make sure you’re not overeating or under-eating on your weight loss journey. When it comes to answering the question – how to lose weight, it’s true that you still have to be in a calorie deficit. However, you want to eat the most calories possible while losing so that you build a strong metabolism!
So when it comes to tracking calories vs a low calorie diet, tracking calories and macros is super helpful, especially for weight loss for women over 40.
I noticed this past month while I was counting calories to lose weight, while also macro tracking to ensure enough protein, that I was eating nearly 2200 calories while still losing weight! So just because you track calories, that doesn’t mean you’re eating a low calorie diet.
